Making Your Stay Easier at Saint Mary's Hospital

Patient information: Call (203) 709-6000 to obtain the room telephone number for a patient staying at St. Mary’s Hospital, or to check a room location. **Please note that federal privacy laws require that patients give us permission to release this information to any person, including family members.

Where to eat: Visitors are welcome to use the hospital cafeteria, located on the basement of the hospital. The hours of operation are:

Breakfast: 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Lunch: 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Snacks/Beverages: 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Dinner: 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

A Subway shop is located on the lower level of the hospital and is open 7 days per week, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The Jazzman Cafe, located in the main lobby, provides beverages and snacks from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Visiting Hours: General visiting hours are 11 a.m.-8 p.m.

Chapel:Located on the first floor of St. Mary’s Hospital, the chapel is open 6:30 a.m. to 8:15 p.m. Mass is televised on TV channel 69. Mass is celebrated every day Sunday through Saturday at 11:45 a.m. and also at 4 p.m. for Saturday vigils. On the vigil of a holy day there is a 4 p.m. mass, and on the holy day itself, mass is at 11:45 a.m.

Spiritual Care: Holy Communion is distributed Monday through Friday at 8 p.m. and Saturdays, Sundays and holidays at 11 a.m. Please let your nurse know if you’d like to receive Holy Communion.

Patient Advocate:  If you have questions or concerns about your care or stay with us, contact our Patient Advocate, Nancy Feola, at (203) 709-6286.

Insurance/Billing: Payment arrangements are set up with a financial counselor at the time of discharge. Financial counselors are available at your request if you would like to discuss payment issues. If you are uninsured or otherwise unable to pay your medical bills you may qualify for financial assistance. For more information, please ask to speak to a Financial Counselor or call (203) 573-7116 or (800) 600-0407. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Hotel Accommodations: Out-of town visitors receive a reduced rate at the Courtyard Marriott, 63 Grand Street in Waterbury. Call them directly at (203) 596-1000.
